Great news! Tuition levels will not increase for the third year in a row. Tuition is frozen for the 2016–17 school year! This is big news in an era where costs of everything are climbing. We are committed to making your Northwestern education a great value.
- Adult Undergraduate courses: $420 per credit
- Taking 8 credits per semester for three semesters, your tuition before applying any financial aid or loans would be $10,080 per academic year.
Many Focus students take an average of 6–8 credits per semester so your annual costs may be lower. Your admission or financial aid counselors will help you estimate your costs as accurately as possible.
Books and material costs vary. An example of total costs you may want to consider for your education is noted below under Consumer Information. Your financial aid counselor can help you determine what financial aid might be available to you.

* Tuition is a direct cost which is paid directly to University of Northwestern, while the amounts listed for books and supplies, housing, transportation and personal expenses are estimated, indirect costs that each student may personally incur and will vary for each program and each student.
2017-18 Tuition announcement- Consumer Information:
We are committed to making your Northwestern education a great value. Costs for Adult Undergraduate coursework at Northwestern has stayed the same since 2013-14. The cost for a Northwestern education remains extremely competitive.
2017-18 Adult Undergraduate courses (FOCUS) will be $430 per credit. The FOCUS tuition cost of $430 is the same for FOCUS online courses or FOCUS on campus courses. As you plan your budget for fall 2017, spring 2018, and summer 2018, we would like to provide you with the cost of tuition. The estimated indirect costs, listed above, will remain the same.
