Stephanie Allen began violin and piano studies at the age of four. She studied piano under Dr. Arvi Sinka of Oakland University and has extensive experience accompanying ensembles and soloists. She studied viola under Achim Gerber and performs and records on viola with Deo Cantamus of Minnesota. Her violin teachers include Dianne Pinner of Bob Jones University and Hai Xin Wu, assistant concertmaster of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Allen served as the teaching assistant for Sally O'Reilly while completing a Doctorate of Musical Arts, concentrating on violin performance and string pedagogy. Allen has performed as concertmaster of the Detroit Civic Symphony, Wayne State University Symphony, Lake Orion Chamber Music Society, and principal second in the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra. She has soloed with both the Wayne State University Symphony and Lake Orion Chamber Music Society., Stephanie plays an active role in church music ministries. She lives with her two daughters in Northeast Minneapolis.
